Using pallet packaging

Pallets have a range of applications including storage and transportation of products. According to figures quoted by Deakin University, 140 million pallets are being used in the Australian market. The main industries that use pallets are transport, warehousing and postal sector, followed by manufacturing and retail trade. This reflects the diverse Australian sectors using pallet packaging.

What is the size of a standard pallet?

Our standard pallets fit the standard regulatory measurement of 1165mm x 1165mm. This was set in 1974 for the Australian railway industry, enabling two pallets to fit squarely in the rail containers for ease of transportation. This regular size, defined by the Australian Standard AS:4068-1993 Flat pallets for materials handling standard has since become the norm for all stores and warehouses transporting materials within Australia.

One of the advantages of doing business with us at Pinewood Products is that our team is focused on getting the job done for our customers.
